It’s Friday and eventhough there are flood warnings in the Northeast and Tsunami warnings on the Westcoast ( I hope everybody stays safe there!!!), it doesn’t stop you, soon to be married, and us, wedding planners, from planning! We discussed hair accessories and outfit styles but one of the most important parts of looking pretty on your wedding day is, of course, makeup! You can either hire a Makeup artists or do makeup yourself. While no particular approach is better than the other, you just need to decide for yourself what’s going to make you most comfortable. If you do decide to hire someone, here are some tips to help you through the process:
Find someone you trust. Getting referrals through your friends is the best place to start. You can also check CL listings or contact Event Remembered to connect you with our very talented makeup artist.
Trial! Very important! It’s a perfect time to not only learn the MUA tecniques but to also try and adjust any style that you think would look good on you. You don’t want to skip the trial and do a completely different style of makeup on the wedding day and experience surprises you might not be ready for
A good makeup artist will talk to you and work with you through this process to see which styles you like and which approach works best for you. They will work with you step by step to achieve the look you want for your special day.
I would also suggest that if you hire a makeup artist, try a different approach. Don’t be “safe” and do the same makeup that you do everyday – the wedding day is one of the most important days of your life and you want to stand out.
Hygiene is very important. Pay attention to how organized the makeup kit is and how clean the brushes are. It simply means how professional the artist is in protecting their clients and their reputation.
Once you find the one you love the most, don’t let them slip away! Good MUA is hard to find and gets booked pretty fast specially during busy seasons!
Good luck and have a great weekend!!!
